The Pharmacy Department utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, where the emphasis is on therapeutic efficacy and safety. We provide comprehensive, clinical and dispensing services in both inpatient and ambulatory care settings through a decentralized satellite pharmacy services model. The department has one of the most robust set of electronic clinical resources in the country and a multifaceted medication safety program!
Across the Center, we review 1.5 million orders per year and dispense over three million doses of medication annually. The Pharmacy Department has more than 450 employees with approximately 300 pharmacists servicing patients in 26 pharmacy satellites, including inpatient unit-based satellites in all oncological specialties.
Memorial Sloan Kettering provides free, live, onsite, accredited continuing education pharmacy courses to help keep your credentials up to date. The department will also sponsor national and state membership for pharmacy organizations and appropriate off-site educational meetings. We are seeking an R5 Inpatient Pharmacy Manager.
Interested in pharmacy leadership position
Resourceful and have good problem-solving skills
Interested in participating in departmental and or institutional improvement projects
Oversee day to day Pharmacy related operations
Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure workflows are optimized
Review and enforce P&P and regulatory procedures
Oversee training, orientation and competency assessment for new and current staff.
Develop staffing schedules to assure adequate coverage at all times. Facilitate Human Resource activities including hiring, promotions, transfers, time-off management, other staff related inquires.
Monitor RISQ events and perform event reviews on selected cases.
Perform performance evaluations for direct reports and review staff goal setting.
Strong computer and communications skills
Strong knowledge of cleanroom operations and USP 797 regulations
An active pharmacy license in New York is required
