Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist working within a licensed pharmacy, performs the technical, nonjudgmental aspects of medication preparation. With minimal supervision, responsible for record keeping and inventory control. Tasks are subject to final verification by a registered pharmacist. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIITES: - Reviewing dispensing report and contacting patients to set up delivery of medications
- Reviewing patient's chart to ensure no medication changes
- Processing FedEx delivery labels.
- Documenting in patient's medical record.
- Answer incoming phone calls.
- Answer patient questions and help address customer service issues as they arise.
- Contact prescribers to obtain new prescriptions and answer questions regarding prescriptions.
- Calculates correct quantities and days supply for dispensed medications.
- Enter/verify patient's information.
- Enters prescription data into prescription processing system.
- Resolve insurance billing problems.
- Help check out patients from the point of sale system.
- Assist the pharmacist with maintaining medication inventory.
- Place medication orders.
- Handle recall procedures with pharmacist oversight.
- Scanning of documents
- Reconciling daily prescription sales and balancing dollar amounts with point-of-sale system.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent. Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate recommended. State Pharmacy Board licensing required.
