A clinical pharmacist provides patient care through the provision of direct operational and/or patient care services.  They also collaborate within the department to enhance operations and clinical programs.  Clinical pharmacists ensure the safe and appropriate use of medications through the provision of drug information, drug therapy monitoring, distributive and supervisory pharmacy services within the framework of hospital and pharmacy policy, standard practices and state/federal laws.
