The MaineHealth Director of Pharmacy Business is responsible for the business intelligence, business integrity, and financial analytics related to aligning the MH Pharmacy Enterprise’s activities to meet the overall goals of the organization. This position works closely with the Chief Pharmacy Officer to develop business strategies, objectives, and priorities. The Director oversees all financial and business considerations across the health system, including but not limited to operating budget, capital budget, business analytics, cost accounting, and revenue cycle across the system. The position is responsible for the development and execution of programs, processes, and business strategies to meet current service expectations and future growth and business expansions. Works collaboratively with MH Finance and MH Pharmacy Directors to provide pharmacy business oversight and leadership.
Qualifications:
- Education:Advanced degree required - Pharm.D. and/or Master’s degree (i.e. MS, MBA, MHA), or CPA.
- License/Certifications:N/A
- Experience:Minimum of 5 years of healthcare experience required. Prior Pharmacy business experience preferred.
- Strong background in creating expense and revenue budgets, an understanding of budget variances, a familiarity with the preparation of monthly financial reports, patient charge audits, purchasing and charge master data.
- Ability to perform sophisticated business analyses of data with the capability of designing and preparing extensive financial reports.
- Personnel management and supervisory skills, including the ability to mentor and coordinate the work of business team members.
- Ability to analyze complex problems, formulates sound solutions, secures approvals from key stakeholders and implements such solutions.
- Ability to provide effective leadership through planning, delegation, and tracking as related to strong process improvement and project management skills.
- Proficiency in common office productivity software and operating systems such as Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Ability to effectively lead change and balance multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
