Overview
Atlantic Health System has an exciting opprotunity for a Full-time Assistant Manager, Pharmacy Operations at Overlook Medical Center.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
Job Function: 01. Direct supervision of pharmacy staff, including Lead Pharmacists and Lead Technicians. Evaluates overall system
operations to assure the most efficient practices to ensure patient safety are in place. Oversees the schedule for pharmacy staff.
Review s and follow s up on disciplinary offenses as needed including thosre related to schedule (NPTO, tardiness).
Job Function: 02. Assess daily w orkload; prioritizes personnel and resources as needed.
Job Function: 03. Controlled Drug substances: Ensures all Federal, State and Hospital CDS regulations, and policies and procedures
are implemented and that all documentaiton is maintained and/or submitted in a timely manner. Ensures accuracy of inventory,
ensures inventory counts are done on a regular basis.
Job Function: 04. Staff Orientation: Ensures that Lead Pharmacists, Lead Techicians, and Administrative Assistant have established
orientation training guidelines and check off lists and that these are completed and documented for all new employees.
Job Function: 05. Sterile Preparations: Supervises processes in the IV room to assure IVs are prepared correctly and in a timely
manner and to promote efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Job Function: 06. Staff Evaluations: Coordinates the prelimiary 3month and annual evaluations for pharmacy staff. W orks w ith Lead
Pharmacist/Techs for input, both positive and negative. Gives feedback to staff throughout the year. Performs employee PIP
(performance improvement programs) w hen appropriate.
Job Function: 07. Standards and Regulations: Assures implementation of standards and regulations from TJC and other regulatory
agencies. Assures compliance of department and hospital policies and procedures. Implementations and assures monitoring of
medication and patient safety initiatives. Participates in multi-disciplinary committees and meetings.
Job Function: 08. Patient Safety: Ensures that patient safety is treated as a departmental priority and that staff are encouraged to
speak up about safety issues and/or ask for help w hen appropriate.
Job Function: 09. Education/Training: Ensures that staff complete all competencies and training. Participates and coaches in education
and training programs for new employees, current employees, students, and pharmacy residents. Expands know ledge by
attending/participating in educational events both in and outside the hospital.
Job Function: 10. Teamw ork. Supports the departmental goals as a team player by assisting staff members and being flexible in roles
and responsibilities. Complies w ith departmental coverage guidelines. Actively supports the Atlantic Health strategic goals. Supports
cross campus communications and sharing of best practices.
Other Tasks W hich May be Required: Typing, familiar w ith W ord and Excel are preferred. is available off shift for consultation

Qualifications
Education
- Graduation from an accredited school of pharmacy.
Qualifications / Requirements
- NJ Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist License
- Must have 5 + years of hospital pharmacy experience, including in a supervisory role.
