As a Senior Pharmacy Care Technician, you will be responsible for reviewing and validating patients’ medication when they are admitted to and discharged from a medical facility. The Senior Pharmacy Care Technician is essential for ensuring there are no discrepancies in the medication patients are prescribed versus what they are taking. You will be working closely with pharmacists and caseworkers to ensure a patient’s smooth transition from hospital to home. The work hours required will be during normal business hours, Monday through Friday.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Review patient medication when they are admitted to and discharged from a medical facility
- Perform medication history consults with patients as part of the medication reconciliation process
- Work closely with pharmacists and caseworkers/social workers to confirm medication adherence and accuracy
- Access, input, and retrieve prescription information from computer systems, providers, or patients

Required Qualifications:
- High school education or equivalent experience
- State and National Pharmacy Technician certifications
- 3+ years of pharmacy-related experience
- MS Office experience
- Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Degree (i.e. Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree)
- Experience in managed care pharmacy (Pharmacy Benefits Manager, Medicare Advantage)
- Experience using EMR systems
- Knowledge of Medicare part D and HIPAA
- Ability to recognize potential drug discrepancies and barriers to adherence
- Ability to identify and analyze drug data trends
- Demonstrate accuracy, timeliness, organization, and attention to detail
