The role you’ll contribute:
The Pharmacy Manager utilizes organizational skills, pharmaceutical expertise and people skills in working with patients, physicians, and other hospital and external personnel to ensure delivery of optimal patient care consistent with the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the Pharmacare Center.

Responsible for communication and marketing to hospital-based and community-based physicians, nurses, office personnel and patients regarding community pharmacy services.
Demonstrates knowledge of the levels of growth, development, and skills for:
Geriatric (65 + yrs.)
Serves as a member of the Extending Excellence Service Team.
When staffing, follows job description for Retail Pharmacist.
Responsible for the work-flow design of the prescription processing and medication dispensing processes. Manages the department efficiently and effectively to support optimal patient care and fiscal profitability.
Reviews financial statement and supporting documents at month end. Meets with Pharmacy Director and department financial analyst to review finances and opportunities for improvement. Attends Special Programs Review quarterly with hospital administration.
Contributes and implements ideas to improve patient care and pharmacy organization. Plans and manages time in order to complete work assignments within scheduled time frame so that assistance may be given to other team members when need or as directed. Demonstrates ability to work effectively under pressure and stress. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times. Presides at monthly staff meetings, and provides meeting minutes. Delegates tasks to pharmacy clerks and technicians. Sets training policy for support staff, new pharmacists, pharmacy students and residents. Opens and closes the pharmacy as scheduled. Cooperates with the Pharmacy Director in the development of systems and policies and procedures to improve productivity, patient care, inventory control, cost effectiveness, etc. Oversees inventory control of prescription and front-end merchandise.
Participates in activities designed for professional growth. Participates in own performance appraisal by identifying individual goals in conjunction with Pharmacy Director. Maintains licensure requirements in accordance with Florida Law to include at least 15 hours of approved continuing education hours per year.
Supervises the documentation of clinical activities/interventions when identifying/resolving drug-related problems in patient care and resident teaching. Fills out appropriate clinical intervention form completely on all problems identified. Identifies outcome/result of intervention whenever possible, including cost reduction, dosage reduction, improvement in therapeutic outcome. Presides over quarterly CQI meetings and maintains CQI meeting minutes for State Board Inspector review.
Responsible for meeting all Florida Board of Pharmacy requirements, and keeps department prepared for state inspections.
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
A current license as a pharmacist in the state of Florida Ability to work under pressure
Graduation from a college of pharmacy with B.S. or Pharm.D. degree
Supervisory experience of two or more years.
Completion of an ASHP hospital pharmacy residency or equivalent experience
Eligibility to be registered as a pharmacist preceptor with the Florida Board of Pharmacy and the various schools of pharmacy located within the state of Florida
