At UConn Health, this class is accountable for coordination of training and teaching activities, the supervision of the non-dispensing and dispensing aspects of the Pharmacy Service, as well as providing pharmacy services to patients. This position will perform and serve as an expert resource for ambulatory pharmacy services, including the UConn Health 340B Program.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Performs and serves as an expert resource for ambulatory pharmacy services, including UConn Health's 340B Program
Participates directly in patient care, including in the Anticoagulation Clinic
Provides consultations concerning drug therapy
Provides operational support in the ambulatory setting
Serves as program coordinator and liaison for 340B Program related matters
Prepares and assists in the monitoring and various tracking and reporting measurements to ensure compliance with the 340B Program
Routinely monitors industry publications and websites with respect 340B Program regulations
Assists in developing Policies and procedures, guidelines and protocols in the Ambulatory Care setting
Provides ongoing training, education, and communication required within the organization
Coordinates pharmacy department seminars/continuing education courses
Assesses opportunities for cost savings and business improvements in 340B Program contract pharmacy utilization for program enhancement and optimization
Performs medication use evaluations
Acts as preceptor for hospital pharmacy residents and students
Represents the department on applicable committees and teams relative to their specialty
Performs related duties as required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of pharmacotherapy, pharmacokinetics, pathophysiology and medical diagnosis
Considerable knowledge of the operation of a hospital pharmacy or outpatient facility
Considerable knowledge of relevant Federal and State Laws
Considerable interpersonal skills
Considerable oral and written communication skills
Ability to proficiently utilize technical automated equipment and information systems.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Pharm D, Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from an accredited Pharmacy program
Five (5) years clinical hospital experience. One (1) year American Society of Health-systems Pharmacists [ASHP] accredited resident program may be substituted for two  years of the required hospital experience.
Incumbents in this class must possess and maintain a license as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Connecticut.
Experience working with pharmacy informatics and data analysis
Experience working with 340B split billing software systems i.e. Wellpartner, Macro Helix, Verity
Experience working with medical records and purchasing software systems i.e. EPIC, HuskyBuy
May be exposed to hazardous materials, infectious/communicable diseases and some disagreeable conditions
SCHEDULE: Full time, 80 hours every two weeks, Monday – Friday, primarily 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., other shifts, weekends, holidays and on-call as assigned, 30 minute unpaid meal break.
