POST-DOCTORAL PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY FELLOWSHIP – Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, offers innovative Post-Doctoral Pharm.D. Fellowships that provide extensive training in the pharmaceutical and bio-pharmaceutical industry. This 2-year Fellowship position is a joint effort between the Rutgers Institute for Pharmaceutical Industry Fellowships and Bristol Myers Squibb. Program emphasis is in Immunology Field Medical. The Immunology Field Medical: Field Medical Strategy and Training/Rotational Opportunity experience provides a novel, customizable two-year experience for individuals interested in developing core competencies in Field Medical and other medical affairs roles within the BMS Immunology franchise consisting of Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, & Rheumatology.
In the first year, the fellow will join the US Immunology Field Medical team and participate in key projects, critical to the success of new product/indication launches and currently approved products.
Over the course of 1 year, the fellow will gain an appreciation for core Field Medical competencies spanning field training, operations, and TL /investigator engagement; including but not limited to scientific engagement, and/or clinical trial activities.
In the second year, the fellow has the option to rotate to a new function within the organization as determined by the Fellow, Executive Steering Committee, Preceptor, and business opportunities; including but not limited to US or WW Medical Affairs, R&D, Publications, etc.
Through this experience the Fellow will:
Serve as an integral part of the Immunology Field Medical Strategy and Training team and key contributor for field medical planning, stakeholder communications, and launch/life-cycle management projects
Gain product and therapeutic expertise in Immunology as foundational knowledge to apply to various projects and activities
Collaborate with home office and field matrix teams to assist in the development of training initiatives and medical resources
Contribute on innovative tactics and/or platforms to elevate MSL development and productivity in the field
Participate in MSL trainings and assessments. Fellow will have the opportunity to accompany MSLs on field rides and virtual interactions to gain an understanding of diverse experiences with thought leaders and study investigators
Understand the policies that guide how Field Medical interacts with Commercial in regards to both communicating with customers and developing internal strategic priorities
Second year experiences TBD based on interest and availability
University-based experiences include a Professional Development Series; opportunities for collaborative research, publication, and teaching; and participating/leading Rutgers Fellowship committees.
