The PGY2 Critical Care residency is designed to facilitate transition to an independent specialized practice managing critically ill patients. From our beginnings in a frame duplex in 1906 to the six hospital system of today, our story has been about growth, opportunity, advancement and caring. As one of southwest Missouri’s Choice Employers, we keep these traditions alive by continually investing in the technology, resources and people that make us the region’s health care leader. We have been locally owned and a not-for-profit health system since 1906. There are 1,014 beds total in the health system. Our flag ship, Cox Medical Center South, is a Level 1 Stroke, Trauma, and STEMI. The system encompasses more than 80 regional clinics, is a Top 100 Integrated Health Network, with 150+ primary care physicians, and 250,918 emergency, urgent care and trauma visits annually.
