Summary of Duties:
Washington State University (WSU) College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Department of Pharmacotherapy, is seeking to hire (1) full-time, annual, non-tenure track, 12- month position, for a Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor (Career Track). The clinical site for this position is the MultiCare Spokane Valley Family Medicine Clinic in Spokane Valley, Washington. This position is co-located on the WSU campus in Spokane within the Department of Pharmacotherapy. The faculty member will be expected to spend a portion of their time on the WSU Spokane campus (approximately a 15–20-minute commute from the Family Medical Clinic).
Development and maintenance of an innovative outpatient primary care clinical practice
Chronic disease management
Education of clinical staff
Managing referrals/consults for complex patients with polypharmacy
Development of a program of scholarship
Supervision of pharmacy students during clinical rotations
Individuals with a strong commitment to an academic career and an interest in innovative teaching and clinical practice models are encouraged to apply. The faculty member will be expected to contribute scholarly work in their area of clinical expertise and support the college through participation in service-related activities according to the College's Promotion Guidelines. This is a one (1) year renewable appointment with a preferred start date of July 1, 2022. Subsequent renewals are subject to satisfactory performance, mutual consent, and available funding.
Candidates must possess a PharmD and have residency and/or fellowship training in one or more of the following areas: teaching, general pharmacy practice, ambulatory care, internal medicine or family medicine. Equivalent training and/or experience will be considered. Eligibility for Washington pharmacist licensure required. This position has been designated by the department to require a background check.

BLS for Healthcare Providers
APhA immunization certificate
Completion of mandatory WSU training as outlined by the university and the department.
CITI training recommended (WSU IRB)
WA pharmacist licensure

Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment. The WSU College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (CPPS) was founded in 1891 and has been accredited since 1912. We are a graduate and professional education college. Our main degree programs include the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) and Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Ph.D.). The college relocated from Pullman to the WSU Health Sciences campus in Spokane in December 2013. In 2015 the CPPS opened the Doctor of Pharmacy program extension on the Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences campus in Yakima.
We currently have just under 650 student pharmacists and graduate students, and over 3,000 alumni. As of 2018, the WSU College of Pharmacy is ranked 29th out of around 118 pharmacy schools in the country by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP).
