University Health is a large academic health system comprised of a 700+ bed flagship hospital and 30+ clinics throughout San Antonio, Texas. As part of the Bexar County Hospital District, the health system serves residents of Bexar County, regardless of funding status, in addition to residents of south Texas and beyond. University Health serves as the teaching institution for UT Health San Antonio School of Medicine and sponsors 20 PGY1 and PGY2 Pharmacy residents. The health system is also affiliated with multiple colleges of pharmacy, including The University of Texas at Austin and University of the Incarnate Word. An associated Women and Children’s Hospital will be opening adjacent to the current hospital in summer 2023.
The Support Services branch of our Pharmacy Department is recruiting for various pharmacist positions to meet the needs of expanding pharmacy services. Specific clinical pharmacist positions include 340B coordinator, educator, informatics/analytics, regulatory compliance and vaccine coordinator. A PGY1 or equivalent experience (3 years) is required.
340B Coordinator: Serves as the covered entity’s compliance expert on 340B program details, policies and procedures; acts as the liaison with necessary affiliated departments to ensure 340B program integrity
Educator: Coordinates competency planning and management for pharmacy staff; collaborates with management and SMEs to create training materials; Supports in-house CE program, as directed
Informatics/Analytics: Dedicated to data analysis and transforms information into actionable insights that drive the optimization of pharmacosafety, pharmacotherapy and pharmacoeconomics
Regulatory Compliance: Facilitates ongoing compliance & survey readiness activities for the pharmacy department and medication use processes within health system; coordinates policy review and approval; serves as the resource for guidance on: Texas State Board of Pharmacy, The Joint commission, URAC, ACHC, REMS compliance programs, and other compliance areas as needed
Vaccine Coordinator: Facilitates compliance with all requirements for vaccines across the health system, including local and state agencies’ (e.g., VFC, ASN) and manufacturers’ requirements; collaborates with pharmacy ambulatory, clinical and quality team leaders in the management of the pharmacist-administered vaccination program
