University Health is a large health system comprised of a 700+ bed academic institution and 30+ clinics throughout San Antonio, Texas; it is also the Bexar County health system, serving all residents of Bexar County, regardless of funding status. University Hospital is a level 1 trauma center that serves as the flagship teaching hospital for UT Health San Antonio School of medicine and 20 PGY1 and PGY2 pharmacy residents. It is also affiliated with multiple colleges of pharmacy, including University of Texas at Austin and the University of the Incarnate Word. An associated Women and Children’s Hospital will be opening adjacent to the current facility in summer 2023.
The Inpatient Pharmacy Operations Group is responsible for order verification, and medication preparation and dispensing for a diverse patient population at University Hospital that includes patients of all ages (neonates through geriatrics), and specialties (critical care, acute care, pediatrics, oncology, solid organ transplant, infectious disease, and emergency medicine). We have integrated technology into our practice that includes robotics for sterile and non-sterile compounding and inventory management. We are looking for pharmacists that are passionate and engaged in teamwork, and eager to practice in a diverse and fast-paced environment. Future positions include: Inpatient Operations Supervisor, and Clinical Pharmacists (Night-shift PRN, PRN Day/Eve, FT Day/Eve).
For Clinical Pharmacists: completion of PGY1 or equivalent experience (3 years) is required.
For Inpatient Operations Supervisor:
Required: completion of PGY2 or equivalent experience (5 years) and interest in leadership & operations
Preferred: Masters Degree or higher in field related to leadership/management
