• Established in 1997 and now a 203-bed hospital • AdventHealth Celebration Health was designed as a Mediterranean resort-style facility to serve as a cornerstone of health in Disney’s planned community of Celebration, Florida • The hospital consistently delivers a state-of-the-art healing environment to residents of Osceola, Orange, Polk and Lake Counties, as well as to visitors from across the United States and the world. All within a 'living laboratory' of groundbreaking, research-driven clinical solutions that integrate mind, body and spirit in the defeat of illness and disease
The role you’ll contribute:
Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Primary responsibility is the provision of medication distributive functions and pharmacy operational tasks, which includes but is not limited to assisting the pharmacist with all duties of preparing and dispensing of medications, inventory management, and regulatory compliance. Performs duties necessary for the effective daily operation of all department services and programs.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Pharmacy Operations • Actively performs all pharmacy technician functions and maintains active proficiency in standard work parameters, hospital and pharmacy specific computer systems, and operational programs • Maintains operational expertise and competency and actively provides coverage of at least two of the following: • Central/distributive pharmacy operations • Sterile compounding • Decentral/ Automated Dispensing Cabinet delivery pharmacy operations • Controlled substance Handling
AND at least one of the following: • Hazardous Medication Sterile Compounding • Quality Assurance & USP required sampling • Technician Inventory Check (i.e., tech check tech where authorized) • Medication History • Supporting Clinical Services • Purchasing and Inventory Mnagemen
• Participates in appropriate utilization of medication automation, technology, and computer systems. Maintains expertise in electronic health record system and be able to accurately interpret electronic records as needed • Accurately completes medication inventories and accurately prepares and dispenses patientâspecific medication doses. Prevents improper drug, dose, dosage form selection, expiration dating, and barcode scanning issues when checking products
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High School degree or equivalent
One year of hospital pharmacy experience or IV compounding experience (Retail or ambulatory experience acceptable for medication history function in lieu of hospital experience)
Associates degree or technical degree in a related field or specific certification related to the position, preferably in a physical science, business or healthcare
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
Applicable State Pharmacy Technician Registration (RPT)
Sterile Compounding Certification, if applicable per state legislation
Current certification from Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), the Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ICPT), or from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
