The Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacist provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care for mental health patients in the ambulatory setting. This consists of ensuring drug therapy that results in safe, effective, and cost-conscious use of pharmaceuticals. In addition, the pharmacist ensures patients have appropriate access to prescribed medications and are provided with medication education as well as adherence tools when needed/appropriate. Candidates must demonstrate excellent interdisciplinary communication and exhibit strong educational and precepting abilities.
This pharmacist will work in the psychiatry clinic. They will receive referrals for the following reasons:
Psychiatry medication monitoring, optimization, and titration for depression, anxiety, mood stabilizer medications, antipsychotic medications, insomnia, and/or depression.
Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties certification in chosen area of specialty
Completion of a PGY2 psychiatry pharmacy residency or equivalent experience
