Clinical Pharmacy Specialists are an integral part of the care for the stroke patient and are considered essential members of the medical team. This position will primarily round with the stroke team at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN. At Methodist, the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist promotes the safe and appropriate use, proper storage, and distribution of medications as required for patient care in accordance with professional standards and practices. Develops, implements, and monitors clinical protocols. Provides consultative and research services in a specialty area to patients and the medical, nursing, and pharmacy staff. Serves as the expert clinical resource for pharmacy in specialty area. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.
