As a Pharmacy Care Technician, you will interact with providers, pharmacies, and members to review and advise on medication adherence strategies and solutions. Employees in this position will work as critical part of the Quality Field Operations team, aligning to geographical regions that care for a high volume of Medicare membership. The Pharmacy Care Technician is responsible for supporting care management related pharmacy programs with a focus on improved health outcomes.

Note: This position requires travel to local sites, with up to 75% travel. This technician will cover an area of Albany, GA to Valdosta, GA.
Collaborate with an integrated health care delivery team for pharmacy related practice quality improvement
Discuss medication regimens and preventative screenings with members and their care givers
Conduct high volume outbound calls to patients, providers, and pharmacies with regards to medication adherence and other pharmacy initiatives
Assist patients in refilling their medications, reach out to the prescriber’s office if a member requires additional refills on their maintenance medications
Utilize prescription claims data as well as patient interview to engage patients in taking and filling their medication
Clarify information as needed with patient’s physician office and/or pharmacy
Coordinate with the Clinical Pharmacist to ensure that any discrepancies between medications are reviewed, evaluated, and clarified and patient questions are addressed
Assess patients for medication adherence barriers and develop a plan to maximize patients' medication success through improving or maintaining adherence to medications
Advise patients on alternate prescription fill strategies of retail versus mail order and options for financial assistance
Connect members to plan resources
Coordinate care to ensure members have access to the medications and services they need
Document member, provider, and pharmacy consultations into internal data base
Effectively participate in and contribute to staff meetings and other staff development opportunities and interdepartmental work groups
Identify areas of improvement where systems modifications could result in operational advancements and efficiencies
Engage with local providers and pharmacies to improve both Part D quality ratings and member outcomes

High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
Current and unrestricted pharmacy technician licensure for the state of Georgia
3+ years of pharmacy technician experience
Ability to travel up to 75% locally - the territory covered for this position is Albany, GA to Valdosta, GA
Reside within a 2 hour commute of Albany, GA or Valdosta, GA
