Open an exciting new chapter in your career as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist on the hospital-based outpatient Pharmacy team at UF Health Shands Hospital, a nationally recognized, 1,162-bed academic medical center located in beautiful Gainesville, Florida.

In this full-time role, you’ll have the opportunity to work with an extraordinary pharmacy team and gain in-depth experience working with a care team within an assigned patient population. This role will allow you to:

• Lead medication error detection, reporting, analysis and prevention activities.
• Coordinate clinical information system resources and technology to accomplish the objectives of Pharmacy services.
• Collaborate with health care practitioners to identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative best practices.
• Measure and monitor cost reductions related to targeted practice changes.
• Ensure compliance of law, national safety recommendations and regulatory stands for medications safety, control, storage and security in the Pharmacy department.

Successful candidates should be Florida-registered (or eligible) Pharmacists who have graduated from an ACPE-accredited school of Pharmacy with a PharmD or hospital training equivalent and at least a PGY2 residency or equivalent. Board-certified candidates are preferred. We are seeking candidates with strong written and communication skills and a proven ability to integrate clinical services and educational activities. Applicants should demonstrate knowledge and understanding of general hospital and outpatient clinic operations, including interacting with medial, nursing and pharmacy staffs.
