Research Clinical Pharmacist Specialist

Novant Health is seeking a Research Clinical Pharmacist Specialist, to join our Investigational Drug Services (IDS) team to deliver optimal medication management across all dimensions of care, every time.

Essential functions include:

• Clinical review, entry, and modification of investigational oncology treatment plans
• Collaboration with market IDS pharmacists
• Dispensation and verification of investigational products
• Education of nursing, pharmacy, and clinical research colleagues for investigational product workflows
• Inventory management of investigational products
• Oversees pharmacy operations and technician practice/activities
• Participation in committees such as residency research oversight committee, investigational product review committee, and cellular therapy workgroup
• Partnership with clinic providers and nursing to provide remarkable patient care
• Proficiency with equipment and software (EPIC, Vestigo)
• Resident (PGY1/PGY2) and student precepting
• Treatment plan and drug order development for all new studies (oncology, pediatrics, and general research)

Qualifications

• Education: 4 Year/Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required; Doctor of Pharmacy preferred.
• Experience: Acute Care/ambulatory: Postgraduate year 2 residency/fellowship OR four recent years of experience as registered pharmacist with majority of time spent in the specialty area of position being pursued OR Postgraduate year 1 residency/fellowship with 2 years of experience as a registered pharmacist with majority of time spent in the specialty area of position being pursued; Oncology experience preferred; Previous experience in clinical research or investigational drug services required.
• Licensure/Certification: Current pharmacy licensure in appropriate state(s) or must be completed within 60 days of start date by either examination or reciprocity; CITI certification for FDA-regulated research and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification required. 
• Additional Skills/Requirements required: Basic technology skills.  Other duties as outlined in Novant Health and facility specific policies and procedures.  Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed.
