SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible for participating in the design, build, maintenance, and support of medication management functions within Clinical Information Systems. Functions include, but not limited to Pharmacy Information Systems, Provider Order Entry (POE), and clinical documentation. Provides pharmacist expertise and oversight to Pharmacy Informatics Analysts and IS Analysts.
The position will be dedicated to supporting oncology. The oncology informatics pharmacist will support the conversion to Cerner Oncology, with a primary focus on electronic ordering of chemotherapy and other high risk infusions. The dedicated pharmacist resource will provide clinical expertise, and assist in the design, build, and support of oncology and the medication process in the electronic medical record.
Serve as a clinical and technical resource for the Pharmacy Informatics Team, IS clinical analysts, and oncology clinicians
Design, build, test, and support electronic orders, order sets, and regimens
Participate in all oncology project and order set governance meetings
Support the inpatient and outpatient pharmacy systems as necessary to support oncology and infusion room workflow
Assist in developing education content for end users
Facilitate the standardization of chemotherapy ordering and workflow across the PSH oncology network
Provide on-going support for System oncology solution, including maintenance of electronic orders and user support.
B.S. or Pharm.D. degree in pharmacy required
Current Pennsylvania Licensure or eligibility required
