The Infectious Disease Translational Research Fellowship program at Midwestern University College of Pharmacy-Glendale Campus (MWU-CPG) in Glendale, Arizona is a 24-month post-doctoral program. The program provides training in a variety of infectious disease research areas including both clinical outcomes and laboratory. Specific research includes antimicrobial pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics, dose optimization of multidrug-resistant pathogens and prevention of resistance, as well as antimicrobial dose optimization in the critically ill population, and antimicrobial stewardship. The experiences can be tailored to the candidate’s individual goals and interests with the goal of developing a competent individual to become a practitioner, clinician, or academician. We are looking for driven candidates who are completing (have completed) a minimum of a PGY1 general residency with an interest in the Infectious Diseases.
Program Highlights:
Developing a clinical scientist competent in the scientific research process, grantsmanship, and manuscript publication. The fellow will spend most of their time contributing to ongoing research and/or design research projects focused on both clinical outcomes and laboratory. Additionally, the fellow will have opportunities to develop clinical practice competency through direct patient care experiences at the designated site by precepting PGY1 residents and MWU-CPG students; provide didactic lectures; and obtain the Clinical Education Program Teaching Certificate.
