MCPHS/Alexion

The Pharmaceutical Development & Clinical Supply (PDCS) fellowship is designed to provide fellows the opportunity to collaborate cross-functionally, build leadership skills through applied, hands-on experience, and develop strong relationships with biopharmaceutical industry leaders. Through their participation, fellows will build their subject matter expertise and be committed partners in advancing Alexion’s mission and values.

Fellows will be guided, mentored, and supported by the larger Alexion team. Specifically, they will have the guidance of preceptors, who have the experience of being both past PharmD fellows and members of the organization. In addition, fellows will serve as key partners in contributing to Alexion’s strategic roadmap, a unique opportunity, which will continue to elevate Alexion as the leader in Product Development & Clinical Supply.

The two-year fellowship will be based out of New Haven, Connecticut. All rotational experiences will be in New Haven, with virtual engagements and projects available to global colleagues.

2-YEAR PROGRAM:

• Onboarding + Clinical Supply Management (~3 months)
• Interactive Response Technology, Clinical Supply Quality, and Supply Demand (~3 months)
• CMC Manufacturing / Program Management (~3 months)
• Injectable Drug Product Development (~3 months)
• Elective(s) (~12 months)

CORE ROTATIONS WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Drug substance/drug product manufacturing
• Supporting combination/ injectable products through the asset lifecycle
• Forecasting Investigational Medicinal Product (IMP) demands
• Partnering with internal and external stakeholders to support clinical trials

The portal will open on October 2, 2023 at 8 am EST.

Please DO NOT request an interview within PPS.  Our recruitment teams will contact qualified candidates via PPS to schedule interviews.

ASHP attendance is not required but highly recommended for in-person interviews.

Before ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting

Applicants must upload the following application materials to the online portal by November 17, 2023:

• Letter of intent
• Curriculum vitae
• Unofficial college transcript
• Contact information of three references for their recommendations.

Incomplete applications WILL NOT be reviewed. ASHP Clinical Midyear Meeting interviews CANNOT be scheduled until these materials have been submitted. Please keep in mind that this is a competitive process and applicants are encouraged to complete their applications as soon as possible.

Three recommendations must be submitted by the three provided contacts no later than November 27, 2023.

Eligibility

The MCPHS Biopharmaceutical Industry fellows will be selected on a nationally competitive basis, with interviews at the American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists (ASHP) Midyear meeting.

• Applicants must have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited college of pharmacy at the commencement of the program.
• Candidates must have strong written and verbal communication skills and a strong interest in pursuing a career within the biopharmaceutical industry.
• All candidates must have authorization to work in the United States throughout the duration of the one or two-year fellowship. No visa sponsorship will be provided.
