At M.D. Anderson you will have the opportunity to join a clinical pharmacy staff of over 120 clinical pharmacy specialists dedicated to providing direct patient care to cancer patients. Through participation on multidisciplinary teams the Clinical Pharmacy Specialists collaborate with medical teams to provide comprehensive drug therapy management including drug selection, order/treatment plan preparation, therapeutic drug monitoring, nutrition support, patient teaching, medication reconciliation and other aspects of total patient management for both acute and ambulatory care cancer patient populations. Degree of acute vs. ambulatory care components depends on the specific disease site assigned. Collaboration with multidisciplinary team is essential to insure continuity of care between care settings. Numerous opportunities for teaching, research, and professional development exist and are expected after establishment of patient care services. Other significant component of the position is to provide preceptorship to pharmacy residents and students.
Multiple positions available including but not limited to Stem Cell Transplant, Leukemia, Lymphoma/Myeloma, and several solid tumor areas.
We will be conducting PPS onsite interviews as well as virtual interviews for those not attending the meeting.
Requirements:
Pharm.D. Degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
Eligible for licensure in the state of Texas
Pharmacy Practice (PGY1) Residency and Oncology (PGY2) Specialty Residency (or equivalent experience)
