Montefiore Medical Center is currently recruiting for a Solid Organ Transplant Clinical Pharmacy Specialist position. They will join our current abdominal transplant pharmacist to provide care to patients on the kidney, liver and pancreas transplant services. The abdominal transplant pharmacists provide primarily inpatient coverage and will begin to integrate into outpatient clinics over the coming year.
This challenging role is responsible for effectively enhancing the drug therapy outcomes of abdominal transplant patients, accomplished through continual assessment of the appropriateness, safety and efficacy of individualized transplant patient pharmacotherapy. The clinician will provide recommendations, information, and education to medical/surgical, nursing, and pharmacy personnel and other health care professional and be involved in clinical research in transplantation or other related disciplines. The practitioner is eligible for faculty appointment at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
The Solid Organ Transplant Clinical Pharmacy Manager must have advanced training, including completion of a PGY-2 residency in solid organ transplantation or completion of a PGY1 residency with a minimum 3 years experience in this area of specialty. Must also be eligible for both board certification in solid organ transplantation (BCTXP) and licensure in the state of New York. Board certification is supported by the Montefiore Department of Pharmacy.
