The USC Alfred E. Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and Arcutis Biotherapeutics Fellowship in Medical Affairs will provide the opportunity for a recent PharmD graduate to learn the skills necessary to excel in a career in the pharmaceutical industry with a focus on Medical Affairs. Upon completion of the one-year program, the fellow will not only be prepared for the challenges of a career in the pharmaceutical industry but will have the full understanding of the Medical Affairs organization and its significant role in launching and managing a product.
The fellow will have the opportunity to work closely with medical affairs team members on activities in the following areas:
Medical Communications (presentation development, material review process, training, etc.)
Publications
Health Economics and Outcomes
Field Medical
Medical Operations (advisory boards, post-marketing studies, medical education, etc.)
Medical Affairs Strategy and infrastructure development and execution
Cross-functional communication and support
Based on the fellow’s interest and time availability, there may be opportunities to participate in rotations with other departments to gain comprehensive experience and skills in the pharmaceutical industry
Candidate Requirements
Doctoral degree (PharmD) from an accredited college or university within 5 years of initial appointment
Possess good oral and written communication skills and Arcutis core values of accountability, inclusion, teamwork, excellence, and integrity

Final interviews will be conducted at the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting, which will take place the end of November through early December virtually.
This program begins on July 1, 2024, and is 1-year duration.
