Northeastern University’s Pharmaceutical Industry Fellowship Program is a two-year fellowship designed to advance the education and training of Pharm.D. graduates in various areas of industry pharmacy including regulatory affairs, medical information/affairs, patient safety, outcomes research, and many other areas. The program is a collaboration between Northeastern University and biopharmaceutical industry partners.
Our program provides a dynamic academic environment offering fellows the opportunity for a wide breadth of experiences:
Develop teaching skills through participation in our Teaching and Learning Seminar series
Facilitate small and large group didactic education in partnership with a faculty mentor
Create, present, and publish scholarly research through collaborative industry and university relationships
Engage with faculty who participate in various interdisciplinary
Network with area residents and other Northeastern fellows via professional development programs, teaching seminars, and participation on fellowship committees

Global/US Medical Affairs
Pharmacy Postdoctoral Fellow – Global/US Medical Affairs Post-Doctoral PharmD Fellowship with Vertex Pharmaceuticals & Northeastern University for 2024-2026 (2 Years). During the program, fellows will work collaboratively and cross-functionally within Vertex's Medical Affairs (MA) group across Global Medical Information and Global/US Medical Affairs Teams. The fellows will also have the opportunity to rotate to an elective of their choice including Medical Operations.
Core Rotation: Global Medical Information Primary Objectives
Utilize clinical expertise to develop timely, accurate, and scientifically balanced responses to unsolicited medical information inquiries
Develop standard and custom medical response documents and FAQs for Vertex marketed and investigational products and relevant disease-related topics
Provide guidance and direction for handling inquiries received by the Medical Information Call Center (MIC)
Review medical inquiries, adverse events, and product complaints received by the MIC to ensure quality, accuracy, and to identify inquiry trends
Participate in or lead various department projects, and assist in the development of departmental procedural guidelines and standard operating procedures
Core Rotation: Global and US Medical Affairs Primary Objectives
Gain in-depth knowledge of disease epidemiology, marketed and investigational products, and competitor information
Develop scientific materials, including slide decks, training memos, and Q&A documents for field medical team use
Support the development of disease state communication strategy, including Global Scientific Platform, Lexicon, and Scientific Narrative
Represent Global and US Medical Affairs in cross-functional disease and brand medical teams
Work collaboratively across matrix teams to prepare for global and regional conferences
Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited institution, eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Massachusetts.
Excellent oral and written communication, time management, and leadership skills, ability to work independently and take initiative on a variety of projects at the industry site and Northeastern.
