Geisinger is recruiting for PGY2 specialty residency positions in the areas of oncology, critical care, and hospital system pharmacy administration & leadership. The positions are 12-month positions.
The oncology residency is accredited through ASHP and offers two positions per year. The program offers experiential opportunities with medical oncology, hematology/BMT, stem cell transplant, ambulatory chemotherapy infusion clinic, oral chemotherapy clinic, pediatric hematology/oncology, neuro-oncology, gynecology oncology, palliative medicine, and infectious disease.
The critical care residency is accredited through ASHP and offers two positions per year. Residents in critical care will gain experience in managing various levels of adult and pediatric critical care needs, emergency medicine practice, acute oncologic crises, and post-ICU ambulatory care clinics. Geisinger Medical Center is host to the PGY2 program and is a Level 1 Trauma Center.
The PGY1/PGY2 HSPAL program is accredited through ASHP and offers the resident opportunities to be part of leadership teams in acute care (inpatient, hematology/oncology, formulary/procurement, etc.), ambulatory care (clinic-based practice, retail/mail order pharmacy, home infusion, specialty pharmacy), and managed care. The residency is hosted by Geisinger Medical Center for the PGY1 year and across the system in the PGY2 year.
All PGY2 residency positions offer opportunities in committee and department meetings, research presentations, and student and PGY1 teaching and precepting.

Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy or successful completion of Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee (FPGEC) certification.
Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice pharmacy in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Successful completion of pre-employment requirements of Geisinger.
For PGY2 resident applicants only: applicants are completing or have completed an American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited or candidate-status PGY1 residency.
