The PGY2 Critical Care Residency Program is organized and designed to provide the postgraduate resident the opportunity for advanced training in the critical care arena. The resident will complete multiple learning experiences including medical intensive care unit, cardiac intensive care unit, neurocritical care unit, emergency medicine and surgical/trauma intensive care unit. Additionally, the critical care resident may complete rotations in trauma, pediatric intensive care, bone marrow transplant, heart failure, neonatal intensive care, and advanced experiences of core rotations. Upon completion, the resident will have the ability to practice within all facets of critical care. The resident will be expected to teach within the intensive care units as well as at the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy.
