Internal Number: Resident - Ambulatory Car
The Virginia Commonwealth University Health System (VCUHS) PGY2 Ambulatory Residency provides clinical practice experience in a variety of ambulatory practices at VCU Medical Center. Required experiences (longitudinal) include Anticoagulation Clinic, Internal Medicine/Complex Care Clinic, Endocrine and Outpatient Staffing & Operations. Elective experiences may be selected from Cardiology Clinic, Emergency Medicine, Geriatric, HIV/Infectious Diseases Clinic, Nephrology Clinic, Oncology/BMT Clinic, Pain & Palliative Clinic, Cystic Fibrosis Clinic, Psychiatry (Adult/Adolescent) and Solid Organ Transplant Clinic. The resident may provide didactic instruction (e.g., lectures, team-based learning sessions, case conferences) and experiential training (e.g., APPEs) to Doctor of Pharmacy students from the VCU School of Pharmacy. The program provides experiences in clinical research through a project and participation in ongoing quality improvement activities.
Applicants must be Doctor of Pharmacy graduates from an ACPE-accredited school or college of pharmacy; have completed an accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency; be licensed or eligible for pharmacist licensure in Virginia; and possess requisite patient care training or experience. The successful applicant must possess exceptional knowledge, clinical problem solving, communication skills, and leadership qualities.
