Atlantic Health System - Morristown Medical Center’s PGY2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency is a 12-month, hospital-based program with one position available each year. It provides training in a flexible, diversified setting with rotations at both Morristown Medical Center and Overlook Medical Center. Required learning experiences include emergency medicine, toxicology, trauma, emergency medicine overnight, community emergency medicine, and pediatric critical care. Elective learning experiences are offered in a variety of specialty areas including MICU, CVICU, CCU, NeuroICU, toxicology II, and transitions of care. Longitudinally, the resident will participate in Prehospital Medicine, the Emergency Preparedness Committee, nursing and physician education, clinical research, and ED clinical weekend staffing.
Our emergency medicine pharmacy residency provides an environment of learning with the specific goal of producing competent and compassionate emergency medicine pharmacists. Residents will complete this objective through multi-disciplinary teamwork in a variety of different settings, as well as through independent study and project management. The program emphasizes the development of clinical, communication and leadership skills necessary to provide high quality care and optimal patient outcomes.

Applicants to the Atlantic Health System PGY2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency Program must meet all the following criteria:
Received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree program or have Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) certificate from the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy
Completed an ASHP-accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency program or one in the ASHP accreditation process prior to the start of the residency year
Be eligible for licensure as a Pharmacist by the New Jersey Board of Pharmacy
