The role you’ll contribute:
Prepares and organizes pharmacy medications by name and dosage, as listed on patient orders. Supports pharmacists and provides distributive pharmacy services. To provide safe and accurate medication services and to support all those involved in direct patient care.

Actively performs all pharmacy technician functions and maintains active proficiency in:
·Standard work parameters
·Operational programs
·Delivery and compounding systems
·Hospital computer systems
·Medication ordering systems
·Mentors new-staff and assists with training
·Assist pharmacy managers and pharmacist with compliance, auditing, and medication histories
·Works as an active member of pharmacy clinical programs and multidisciplinary team
·Oversees appropriate utilization of medication automation, technology, and computer systems
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
·Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, problemâsolving, and customer service skills
·Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changes as necessary
·Ability to interact constructively with supervisors, peers, and external customers
·Ability to follow direction from formal management personnel and informal supervisors (pharmacists) and at times, to work well without direct supervision
·Ability to identify, follow up, and resolve discrepancies
·Ability to identify, resolve, and mitigate pharmacy operational or program issues
·Ability to keep accurate and complete records
·Knowledge of medical terminology
·Ability to teach pharmacy technician students
·Proficiency in hospital computer system technology and automation
·Knowledge and competence in aseptic techniques chemotherapy product compounding (if applicable)
·Initiative to keep abreast of and communicate developments in the provision ofpharmacy services
·Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English
·Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
·Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
·High School Degree
·Two years of Contemporary hospital pharmacy experience
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
·Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in a physical science, business or healthcare
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
·Registered Pharmacy Technician in Kansas
·Current certification from Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), the Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ICPT), or from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
