Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital (CMHH) is recruiting clinical pharmacists to cover the Neonatal ICU, Pediatric ICU, and General Pediatrics services. At 278 beds, CMHH is one of the largest pediatric hospitals in the country and contains a dedicated pediatric emergency center and the largest Level I Pediatric Trauma Center in Houston fully equipped to treat pediatric patients. In addition to general pediatric, pediatric subspecialty, pediatric transplant (heart, kidney, and liver) services, the hospital has a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, providing neonatal critical care services to infants and premature babies born as early as 23 weeks’ gestation. We also have a 22-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and a 20-bed Heart Center Intensive Care Unit.
CMHH serves as the primary teaching site for the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. Active involvement is maintained with the University of Houston College of Pharmacy and the Texas A&M College of Pharmacy, providing clinical and operational experiences for pharmacy students. Centers of Excellence include pediatrics and neonatology.
Successful candidates for these positions will play an integral role in patient care and will serve as key members of the interdisciplinary health care team, providing clinical support to physicians and nurses, operational support to the Department of Pharmacy and educational mentorship to pharmacy students. Successful candidates also may function as preceptors for pharmacy students and residents. Additionally, pharmacy clinicians will work with the Department of Pharmacy to address institutional and departmental pharmacy-related quality improvement initiatives.
Preferred applicants will have completed a PGY2 Pediatric Pharmacy Residency Program and have 1+ years of experience in the management of pediatric patients or a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency Program and have an equivalent level of experience in pediatric pharmacy practice, as well as being certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Applicants must be eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the state of Texas. Please note that Memorial Hermann will no longer hire individuals who use tobacco products in any form.
