The Pharmacy Clinical Manager will oversee clinical pharmacy operations in adult acute care areas. Areas may include critical care, cardiology, internal medicine, surgical, emergency, behavioral health, and oncology services. This position will serve as a member of the Pharmacy leadership team and will be responsible for management and oversight of multiple service areas and staff members. This position includes direct supervision of clinical pharmacists and is responsible for the engagement and development of staff, evaluation and implementation of process improvements and clinical initiatives, and providing guidance in experiential education to pharmacy students and residents. The Pharmacy Clinical Manager will also engage in other management and leadership activities in collaboration with departments outside of Pharmacy. This role will support upholding the highest standards for a safe, effective, and efficient clinical pharmacy practice.
Pharmacy Manager, North Liberty
UI Healthcare at Forevergreen Road is a brand-new community orthopedic hospital located in North Liberty, Iowa with a 36-bed inpatient unit, 12 operating rooms, numerous orthopedic and sports medicine clinics, a level-IV emergency department and an outpatient pharmacy. The Pharmacy Manager at this location will oversee clinical services and operations provide leadership and supervision to clinical pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and support staff located at the facility and within the Department of Pharmaceutical Care. They will function as the Pharmacist in Charge and be a member of the department’s Pharmacy Leadership Team.
Areas of focus for this position include but are not limited to pharmacy, clinic and procedural area operations, technology and automation, medication safety, compliance, sterile and non-sterile compounding and preparation operations. The manager will ensure all legal and regulatory guidelines are met, work with other pharmacy managers to ensure standardization of workflow processes across all pharmacies, serve as the liaison for the clinics at that location, and participate on department and hospital committees as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree
Current license or eligibility to be licensed as Pharmacist by Iowa Board of Pharmacy
Completion of a PGY1/2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration residency or minimum of five years of experience working in a complex pharmacy environment. Alternative residency training with or without related experience will be evaluated as acceptable alternatives.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Strong interest either acute care clinical or ambulatory care pharmacy settings
Ability and willingness to act as a preceptor
Job-related experience with and/or commitment to service excellence is required
Job-related experience with and/ or commitment to diversity in the work environment is required
Desirable Qualifications:
Job-related experience in either acute care or ambulatory care
Master of Science in pharmacy or healthcare/management related advanced degree such as an MHA, MPH or MBA
Board of Pharmacy Specialties Certification
Experience with automation/technology, human resources management, project management and Epic electronic health record
