Pharmacy Specialist, Investigational Drug Service
This pharmacy specialist position provides pharmaceutical care to patients receiving investigational drug services (IDS) and supports principle investigators and study coordinators. It also serves as a role-model/practitioner-educator for Doctor of Pharmacy Students. This position facilitates implementing investigational studies in collaboration with other IDS staff. This position will be involved with the review of study protocols and informed consent documents to ensure they meet the institutional and study sponsor standards. Other duties include but are not limited to meeting with study sponsors and principle investigators, creating inventory logs and dispensing protocols, participation in EMR record creation, and education of pharmacy staff on study protocols. Studies in the investigational drug service span many specialties and include ambulatory, inpatient, and emergency department-based protocols.
Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, Multi-Specialty
This ambulatory pharmacist will work with other pharmacists in the Pediatric Specialty Clinics (Dermatology, GI, Rheumatology, Allergy & Immunology, Neurology, Endocrinology, and Pulmonary) to provide pharmacist services to patients. The pharmacist works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide care for patients in the pediatric clinics. They will answer clinical questions about medications, provide education on new therapies and medication devices, coordinate dispensing, as well as medication monitoring and management for patients receiving specialty medications through UIHC Specialty Pharmacy Services. The pharmacist also serves as a role-model/practitioner-educator for Doctor of Pharmacy students and pharmacy residents and carries out clinical practice responsibilities for the Department of Pharmaceutical Care.

Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree
Eligibility for or current license by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy Examiners
Board Certification in an applicable area within 12 months of hire
Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY1 pharmacy practice residency or 2 years of experience in a complex multi-disciplinary healthcare environment
Excellent verbal and written skills are required

Desirable Qualifications:
Satisfactory completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency is highly desirable
Active board certification in Ambulatory Care or Pharmacotherapy is highly desirable
Able to work independently, prioritize multiple stakeholders and tasks, manage details and deliver results in an environment with competing demands
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with others
