The Philadelphia College of Pharmacy (PCP) at Saint Joseph's University offers a one-year PGY2 Critical Care Residency in conjunction with Cooper University Health Care. Cooper University Hospital is a 663-bed, non-profit, academic medical center in Camden, NJ. Residents also have opportunities for learning experiences with affiliated institutions in the Philadelphia area. This residency is ASHP-accredited.
This residency further refines skills attained during a PGY1 residency, specifically skills in (1) providing direct patient care in a critical care setting, (2) conducting critical care related research, and (3) educating Doctor of Pharmacy students. Trainees will be prepared to be critical care pharmacy specialists and academicians. The resident will participate in didactic and experiential education of Doctor of Pharmacy students while completing a teaching and learning curriculum program. Certification opportunities include: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Basic Life Support (BLS); BLS and ACLS instructor. The resident will develop a manuscript appropriate for submission to a peer-reviewed journal.
