The Transplant Clinical Pharmacy Specialist will join a team of 8 Transplant Specialists and over 35 other Clinical Specialists to provide exceptional patient care at one of the largest solid organ transplant programs in the country. The Comprehensive Transplant Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University Medical Center performs over 500 solid organ transplants annually between kidney, liver, heart, and lung transplants. The selected candidate will provide direct patient care in both the inpatient and outpatient settings by evaluating and recommending appropriate drug therapy, enhancing optimal cost-effective strategies, developing and accessing comprehensive pharmaceutical care and quality assurance programs, developing organ-specific protocols, providing patient education, and serving as a resource to the pharmacy staff and other hospital departments. Additional opportunities include, but are not limited to, clinical research, committee membership, hospital staff education, resident and student precepting, and preceptor development.
Job requirements include PharmD, PGY1 Residency, PGY2 Solid Organ Transplant Residency, Missouri pharmacist license with Medication Therapy Services Certification prior to onboarding date, and Board Certification within three years of hire.
