Pharmacy Residents contribute to the ongoing advancement of the pharmacy enterprise at St. Elizabeth Healthcare by providing evidence-based patient care, conducting formulary stewardship, and executing research. Throughout the residency year, residents are expected to gain increasing independence and proficiency in pharmacy practice and specialized areas.

ASHP Requirements

• Must be graduates or candidates for graduation of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited degree program (or one pursuing accreditation) or have a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) certificate from the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP).
• Must hold a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and be eligible for licensure in Kentucky
• Active enrollment and expected completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency program or one in the ASHP accreditation process. A copy of the resident’s PGY1 residency certificate should be presented to the RPD on the first day of residency
• An interview is required. In-person interviews are preferred, but in extenuating circumstances a phone, web-based interview may be considered.
