Acute care clinical pharmacists at UIHC provide diverse pharmaceutical care services including drug therapy review, pharmacokinetic dosing, anticoagulant dosing, order verification, and monitoring; interdisciplinary patient care rounding; admission and discharge medication reconciliation; bedside counseling patient education as well as teaching PGY1/PGY2 pharmacy residents, medical residents, and students.

There are currently positions available in the following specialty areas:

• Adult critical care and the opportunity for straight evenings, no weekends, and no holidays
• Emergency medicine midnight opportunity
• Pediatrics with an oncology focus

These positions will provide care for patients primarily in the inpatient setting.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree
• Completion of an PGY1 ASHP accredited pharmacy residency or equivalent experience 
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Job related experience with and/ or commitment to service excellence
• Job related experience with and/ or commitment to diversity in the work environment
• Current or eligible for Iowa Pharmacist licensure

 Desirable Qualifications:

• Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY2 pharmacy residency in applicable specialty area
• Board certification in pharmacotherapy or applicable specialty area
• BLS, ACLS, or PALS certification
• Clinical practice experience in applicable specialty area
• Experience in a complex healthcare setting
