East Tennessee State University (ETSU) Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy (GCOP), in collaboration with Ballad Health Pharmacy Services, is seeking applications for a full-time, co-funded, 12-month faculty position in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. This position is for a clinical-track appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
Essential Functions: GCOP is committed to faculty integration in direct patient care environments to provide educational services that improve patient outcomes and enhanced, collaborative care within Ballad Health Pharmacy Services. The successful applicant will primarily provide inpatient care as an Internal/Family Medicine clinical pharmacy specialist and precept student pharmacists and PGY1 and PGY2 pharmacy residents. The applicant will teach in the didactic curriculum, contribute to the research and scholarly pursuits of the departments of Pharmacy Practice and Ballad Health Pharmacy Services, participate in regional/national presentations, and provide service to the College, the University, and the broader professional community
Additional information: Health and Ballad Health Pharmacy Services share a long-standing and resolute commitment to providing pharmacy education and improving the health and welfare of the people in northeast Tennessee and southwest Virginia. As part of this partnership, the faculty member will provide patient care with existing College of Pharmacy faculty in collaboration with Ballad Health Pharmacy Services. Inpatient services currently covered by ETSU faculty include Family Medicine teaching services at Johnson City and Holston Valley Medical Centers. College of Pharmacy faculty also participate in the interprofessional education of medical residents, medical students, and other ETSU Health learners. Johnson City Medical Center is a 445-bed regional tertiary referral center and one of five Level 1 Trauma Centers in the state of Tennessee. Holston Valley Medical Center was recently named among the Best Regional Hospitals by U.S. News & World Report (2022-23). The Center for Pharmacy Education, Advocacy and Outreach was created collaboratively between the Gatton College of Pharmacy and Ballad Health to ensure mutually beneficial and superior educational environments, broadening efforts to equip pharmacists in the region to transform practice and work as members of the healthcare team and to improve health outcomes including transitions of care at the time of hospital discharge.

Qualifications: PharmD or other terminal pharmacy degree and completion of two years of residency training (or equivalent experience) by July 1, 2024. Applicants should demonstrate excellence in clinical practice and have a strong desire for teaching and scholarship in an academic environment. Candidates must be eligible for Tennessee Pharmacist licensure.
