St. Luke's Health System is seeking a Specialty Pharmacist to join our Specialty Pharmacy team!
Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
No Weekends - No Holidays!

The Specialty Pharmacy Pharmacist supports pharmacy services in complex disease states such as Rheumatology, Dermatology, Cystic Fibrosis, Neurology, Cancer, Hepatitis C, Immunology and other diagnosis's requiring medications classified as specialty due to high monitoring or high cost. While partnering with Technicians and care teams located in various physical locations.
Responsibilities
What will I do as a Specialty Pharmacy Pharmacist?
Primarily, this position will need to navigate the health system EMR while utilizing high functioning retail skills to maintain accreditation practices of the Specialty Pharmacy and excel in coordination with various aspects of health care to provide a high level of concierge service required for complex patients and drug therapies.
You'll provide integrated support to patients and clinic care teams to assist in high quality total patient care, working closely with patients to deliver a full continuum of medication adherence, fulfillment, and financial support.
Always preserving patient choice and preference, you will encourage providers and patients of specialty clinics to utilize our SLHS Specialty Pharmacy to fully benefit from its superior and increasing array of patient care services.
- Review appropriateness of prescribed medication therapy
- Provide medication information and consultation to patients, nurses and medical staff
- Interpret prescriptions, clinically review and dispense medications
- Collaborate with technicians, externs, interns and support staff
- Maintain all necessary records on medication therapy, prescriptions, patient charges, medical records and inventory
- Perform cognitive clinical pharmacy services and document findings and actions in accordance with standards of the medical center
- Support and assist in the training and upskilling of all new hires including pharmacists, technicians, externs, interns, residents and other department staff
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
What qualifies me for this position?
- You must have a degree from an accredited pharmacy program
- A valid Idaho Pharmacist License
- Preferably, you'll have two (2) years' experience in a retail or outpatient pharmacy setting, or have worked in a Specialty Pharmacy before!
You should also have strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, a professional presentation, and a desire and ability to be innovative and creative.
You must be a quick learner who is able to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships.
