OU Health in Oklahoma City (University of Oklahoma Medical Center and Oklahoma Children’s Hospital) seeks to fill two (2) Clinical Pharmacy Manager positions. One (1) position is available with the University of Oklahoma Medical Center Adult tower, and one (1) position is available with the Oklahoma Children’s Hospital.
General Description: Under the general direction of the Director of Pharmacy, is directly responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the assigned Pharmacy unit.
Essential Responsibilities:

Responsible for the day to day operational management of the assigned Pharmacy unit in accordance with the hospital’s philosophies, goals, and objectives to ensure the consistent provision of high-quality patient care.
Provides management interventions related to pharmacy related issues of patient care through communication with physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals.
Directly participates in various aspects of hospital computer systems database management to include primary hospital medical information system, automated dispensing machine system, TPN compounding system, controlled drug inventory system and Smart Pump drug library maintenance.
Maintains oversight of supply chain/inventory control activities for assigned areas.
Supervises pharmacy staff and is responsible for interviewing, hiring, coaching, evaluating and disciplining staff.
Serves as a preceptor or educational resource for new employees and students.
Actively participates in the professional development of staff through delegation, counseling related to performance/progress and completes performance evaluation forms as scheduled.
Continually monitors staffing levels in all assigned areas and makes recommendations on additions/reductions in staffing complement based on workload and productivity guidelines while ensuring quality of care is maintained.
Maintains overtime percentage at or below defined target.
Maintains skills at a level to perform duties of a staff pharmacist.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited pharmacy degree program.
Experience: 2 or more years of pharmacy work experience, including at least 1-year experience in hospital pharmacy in a lead, senior, or project management role.
License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Licensed as a Doctor of Pharmacy (D.Ph.) by the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy. Certificate as a preceptor by the Oklahoma Board of Pharmacy when eligible. Subsequent to orientation/training, must be proficient in intravenous admixture skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of current pharmacy related rules, regulations, requirements and standards.
Must be proficient in the management skills of planning, controlling, coordinating and measuring departmental activities.
Knowledge of the use of personal protective equipment during the preparation of cytotoxic pharmaceuticals.
Supervisory skills.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative relationships with key stakeholders. Strong influence skills and ability to motivate others.
Ability to maintain integrity and trust among leadership and staff.
Proven ability to manage a team of professionals and lead a departmental function.
Demonstrated business acumen. Demonstrated business understanding and ability to balance people / organizational decisions with business considerations. Experience using metrics to drive decisions.
