The University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy invites applications for a 12-month Non-tenure track position at the rank of Clinical Assistant, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor. Rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. The position is based in Jackson, Mississippi, on the Jackson campus of the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Academic responsibilities include teaching in the Skills Laboratory experiences, integrated and modularized PharmD curriculum, training of pharmacy students on practice experiences (IPPE and APPE), and potential for involvement with the School of Pharmacy residency programs (PGY1 & PGY2). The candidate must develop and maintain a clinical practice in internal medicine or community pharmacy. In scholarship, the candidate will be expected to publish scholarly works in peer-reviewed journals and teach and mentor students and residents in research experiences. In service or citizenship, the candidate will be required to serve the department, the school, and the University according to needs and interests. Participation and leadership in professional and scientific organizations are encouraged.
The successful candidate must have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited School/College of Pharmacy with residency and or fellowship training preferred, be licensed, or eligible for licensure as a pharmacist by the State of Mississippi. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to teaching, service, scholarship, and competence as a clinician. Board certification is encouraged.
