The Rhode Island Infectious Diseases (RIID) Research Program is focused on the prevention, treatment, virulence inhibition and outcomes associated with drug-resistant bacteria. The program is divided into three divisions, the in vitro division, focused on antimicrobial pharmacology, the clinical outcomes division focused on pharmacoepidemiology, and the antimicrobial stewardship implementation division focused on improving antibiotic use and patient outcomes. The program is located in the State of Rhode Island, at the Providence Veterans Affairs Medical Center and the College of Pharmacy at the University of Rhode Island.
