The role you’ll contribute:

The Lead Pharmacy Technician, working under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, performs delegated duties, tasks and functions associated with the provision of pharmacy services within the hospital. In addition, the Lead Pharmacy Technician assists in supervising the activities of the pharmacy department's team of Pharmacy Technicians and assists in the maintenance of the pharmacy's operations.

The value you’ll bring to the team: 

·  Facilitates medication safety practices by identifying and reporting potential medication errors such as look-alike sound[1]alike medications.
·  Maintains personal continuing education plan including documentation of an annual self-evaluation and plan for self-development.
·  Effectively collaborates with other hospital departments and strategic business unit leaders to advance patient care services and pharmacy programs.
·  Provides coverage of decentralized pharmacy practice areas- medication histories in decentralized areas as assigned and supports other areas as needed.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

·  High School Grad or Equiv and 3 years experience
·  PTCB - Certified Pharmacy Technician
·  Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians 
·  Lic Pharm Tech
·  Sterile Compounding Certification, if applicable per state legislation 
·  Applicable State Pharmacy Technician Registration (RPT)
