Based out of our corporate offices in Dublin, OH, CPS' 12-month Health Equity and Systems Thinking pharmacy fellowship program is created in response to the need for further training and experiences to address healthcare disparities and creating a more culturally and linguistically competent pharmacist workforce. Further, to build a generation of pharmacist leaders who aim to recruit/retain pharmacist providers who reflect the cultural diversity of the community served. Having a diverse and inclusive profession offers trainees, of all backgrounds, role models and mentors with diverse life experiences and cultures and achieves the desired mix of health professional educators.
The fellowship program utilizes a combination of didactic curricula, interactive sessions, patient-directed and project-based learning experiences to build a deeper understanding of the socioeconomic determinants of health and key issues affecting the medically underserved. Core learning experiences include: education, practice assessment, practice research, environmental/social/governance/corporate leadership, informatics and special populations. Throughout the year, the Fellow works alongside high-performing corporate leaders and practicing clinicians in acute, specialty and ambulatory sites and access to a plethora of clinical tools and other resources.
Fellows successfully completing the CPS Health Equity and Systems Thinking Fellowship will achieve the goals and objectives pertaining to the following core competencies:
Social Determinants of Health and Healthcare Disparities Within Population-Based Health Care
Practice Management and Systems Thinking
Quality Improvement and Research Project
Leadership and Management
Teaching, Education, and Dissemination of Knowledge
We aim to position our graduates to improve health equity through advocacy, recognition of system thinking and adoption of community resources/partnerships to improve chronic conditions. In addition, our post-graduate pharmacy training aims to further the Mission and Vision of CPS to empower healthcare organizations to achieve clinical, operational, financial, and regulatory excellence while transforming community healthcare one patient at a time. Our fellows will join a team of industry experts with extensive background in transforming pharmacy operations – providing optimized pharmacy best practices and innovative technology solutions. Ultimately driving superior financial and clinical performance across the continuum of care.

All applications must be received by January 3, 2025 and will be screened according to the following criteria:
Graduate of a college of pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) with a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
Licensure in good standing as a Registered Pharmacist
Completion of a Postgraduate year one (PGY-1) pharmacy residency or equivalent training
Submit a complete application, including curriculum vitae, personal letter of intent and three reference letters
Curriculum vitae contains no deficits or cause for concern in the areas of written communication, pharmacy experience, or academics.
Three recommendation letters and/or forms contain no deficits or cause for concern in the areas of personal relations/maturity/leadership, initiative/motivation, academics, pharmacy experience, or written/verbal communication.
