Department Profile
The Pharmacy Department provides services to patients cared for at Tampa General Hospital and Tampa General Medical Group. Services provided include clinical and distributive services to in-house patients, outpatient and specialty prescriptions, infusion center, and ambulatory clinical services. The department is composed of approximately 300 team members, including pharmacists, technicians, and support staff. Pharmacy team members have backgrounds that represent a diverse mix of experiences, training, and certifications in multiple areas of pharmacy. The Department of Pharmacy offers accredited residency training programs, is affiliated with pharmacy schools in the State of Florida, and technical training programs within the Tampa Bay area.
Job Summary
The Oncology Clinical Specialist will join our Oncology service line’s multidisciplinary team in developing TGH’s growing Cancer Institute by providing collaborative, patient-centered care with primary emphasis on medication management, patient safety, and quality outcomes. This position will also participate in pharmacy services within the Cancer Institute’s heme-oncology clinics, infusion centers, and inpatient oncology service.
Pharm D, or B.S. degree with Pharmacy Practice Residency (PGY-1), and Oncology specialty residency (PGY-2) (preferred), or equivalent training/experience in oncology setting. Current licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in the state of Florida.

The Department of Pharmacy offers four ASHP-accredited residency training programs dedicated to developing clinical practice competencies while promoting leadership, confidence, and professional skills. Each program combines clinical training with teaching and scholarly activities to develop a well-rounded clinical practitioner. While the programs have required rotations, each provides flexibility to meet the needs of the individual resident.
