The Cook Children's PGY2 pharmacy residency in pediatrics is designed to transition PGY1 residency graduates from a generalist practice to a specialized practice, focused on the care of pediatric patients. Residency graduates are equipped to participate as integral members of interdisciplinary teams caring for pediatric patients, assuming responsibility for pharmaceutical care. These residents acquire the capacity to deliver evidence-based care to pediatric patients within the limitations presented by the shortage of research in the use of medications in this patient population. They are able to prepare or supervise the preparation of the unique formulations required by pediatric patients as those patients' needs change according to their stage of growth and development. *** Pedi
