This position is full-time (40 hours weekly, 8-hour shifts) that works day shift collaborating with interdisciplinary care teams to maintain and propose best new treatment practice order sets in accordance with the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guidelines and primary literature.
This position may work remotely up to two (2) days per week.
$25,000 sign-on bonus
The Clinical Pharmacist Specialist provides services for Oncologic and Hematologic conditions in the ambulatory setting. The pharmacist in this position provides extensive, direct pharmaceutical care in collaboration with providers in the Cancer Service Line, participates in drug therapy consults, clinical research protocols, and provides patient/family/staff/physician education, and precepts pharmacy residents and students. This position is a key clinical role supporting our Specialty Pharmacy program. It is embedded within the practice working with the Providers.

As a Clinical Pharmacy Inpatient Specialist you will:
Serve as the pharmacy lead and point of contact for hematology and oncology order sets
Facilitate and collaborate with appropriate caregivers in the development, reviewing and updating of hematology and oncology orders sets with an understanding of the pharmacy operational impact of such order sets
Work collaboratively with IVAS Newark campus in the operational implementation of hematology/oncology order sets and PowerPlans
Evaluate drug efficacy, monitor therapeutic goals and outcomes, and review for contraindications/precautions
Order and evaluate laboratory tests per approved protocols to support medication therapy monitoring
Electronically document interventions and provide sign out as appropriate
Opportunities to serve as a preceptor for both pharmacy students and residents
Assist with projects such as MUEs, drug monographs, and performance improvement activities
Review and interpret provider orders and dispense medication
Serve as a representative for the Department of Pharmacy on appropriate hospital committees/projects including oncology drug management
Navigate oncology drug shortages, including recommendation of alternative therapies when appropriate
Education and Experience Requirements:
PharmD degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy required
ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency required or equivalent experience (3 years of clinical pharmacy experience)
ASHP-accredited PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency required or equivalent experience (3 years of oncology pharmacy experience, in addition to PGY1 residency or equivalent)
Experience in hospital oncology pharmacy practice preferred
Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) required within 2 years of hire
Current licensure (or eligible to reciprocate) in the State of Delaware
