The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) seeks a full-time, twelve month, non-tenure track faculty position. UMES is located in rural Maryland and is one of America’s most beautiful campuses. The School of Pharmacy is dedicated to developing exemplary pharmacy professionals and scholars who are committed to patient-centered care, lifelong learning, discovery, and service for diverse communities of the Delmarva Peninsula, the State of Maryland, and around the world. Faculty are dedicated and promote a positive work environment. The practice site is in Salisbury, Maryland. The responsibilities are as follows: provide didactic and experiential education in pharmacy practice, specifically in ambulatory care and related subjects; participate in direct patient care; develop/maintain a practice which supports interactions with other health professionals; develop/revise course(s) to meet and exceed accreditation standards; cooperate and coordinate with others in team-taught courses; develop and commit to scholarly activity; serve on School and University committees; and participate in regional and/or national professional organizations along with peers and students. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree
• Completion of a post-graduate year one ( PGY1) residency preferred or at least three (3) years of comparable clinical experience
• Preference will be given to candidates who have completed a post-graduate year two (PGY2) ambulatory care residency, are board-certified in ambulatory care, and/or have experience in ambulatory care and those with experience in didactic and experiential teaching
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and organizational skills are required
• A team approach to patient care is required
• The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence, student engagement, research collaboration, and service
• Experience in didactic and experiential teaching is preferable
• Current Maryland pharmacy license or eligibility for Maryland licensure required

The School of Pharmacy at UMES was founded in 2008 and admitted its inaugural class in the fall of 2010. The Doctor of Pharmacy program is the first professional pharmacy program on the Delmarva (Delaware, Maryland, Virginia) Peninsula and is the only 3 year concentrated program in the state of Maryland. The Doctor of Pharmacy program of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore School of Pharmacy was awarded full accreditation on June 26, 2013 by the ACPE Board of Directors. The pharmacy faculty is divided into two departments: Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacy Practice & Administration.
