The PGY1 / PGY2 Specialty Pharmacy Administration and Leadership with masters residency program with CPS Solutions, LLC is a combination program consisting of a Master’s degree and residency in Specialty Pharmacy Administration and Leadership created to focus on developing leadership and management skills through practical specialty pharmacy experiences. CPS hopes to create an environment of professional growth and create a foundation of development of leadership skills that will prepare the resident to assume leadership in a health-system specialty pharmacy.? CPS has collaborated with The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy for the resident to earn their Masters in Health-System Pharmacy Administration throughout 24-month program.
Summa Health is an integrated delivery network in Akron, OH. Summa Health launched its ACHC and URAC-accredited specialty pharmacy service in partnership with CPS in 2019. Today, locally embedded pharmacists and pharmacy liaisons provide high-touch support to patients across 47 clinics.

The PGY1 focuses on the clinical aspect to health-system specialty pharmacy. The PGY2 will be dedicated to the resident completing leadership and management learning experiences. Specific areas may include, but are not limited to operations, finance, informatics, inventory, human resources, regulatory compliance, and additional elective opportunities. The PGY2 may all additional travel opportunities to foster collaboration with leaders across the company and gain exposure to unique management experiences based on developments in other nationwide sites. The resident will also have the opportunity in developing the program to meet their management career goals. This SPAL program will prepare the resident to complete the program and be qualified to serve in a clinical operations role within health-system specialty pharmacy.
All applications must be received by January 6, 2025 and will be screened according to the following criteria:
Graduation from an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited college of pharmacy or have a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) certificate from the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP).
Enrollment in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).
Completed pharmacy practice residency application.
Eligibility for licensure in the State of Ohio.
Curriculum vitae contains no deficits or cause for concern in the areas of written communication, pharmacy experience, or academics.
Three recommendation letters and/or forms contain no deficits or cause for concern in the areas of personal relations/maturity/leadership, initiative/motivation, academics, pharmacy experience, or written/verbal communication.
